WYI Odede Hospital Project
expand_moreA website for World Youth International's Odede Hospital.
Created: 9 years ago
I designed this website for an Australian charity called World Youth International. It focuses on their Odede Hospital project including sponsorship programs, hospital supply gift options and donations.
A little about the Odede Hospital
This centre provides crucial health and medical services to people living in extreme poverty within Odede. The hospital services include general medical assistance, maternal and infant health services, a HIV testing clinic and support programs, along with community health education outreach programs.
World Youth International is committed to help fund the hospital and we need your support. You can assist by sponsoring one of our hospital staff, joining our Nurses in Action volunteer program or by making regular fully tax deductible charitable donations. You can also purchase a unique gift from our online shop to share with family and friends, with proceeds* going to the Odede Community Health Centre.
The Project
As the web designer and developer, I was responsible for the design process relating to the front-end (client side) design of the website including writing mark up and also the development side including client liaison, scripting, web server and network security configuration. Web designers are expected to have an awareness of usability and are also expected to be up to date with web accessibility guidelines.
As the graphic designer, I was responsible for typesetting, illustration, user interfaces and web design. A core responsibility of the designer's job is to present information in a way that is both accessible and memorable.
